Bangalore: Former Bangalore Police Commissioner and Vice-Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities H T Sangliana escaped with minor injuries when a mini-bus hit his car at Yelahanka on Thursday afternoon, sources told.
Earlier reports said that Sangliana was “seriously injured, but family sources told Mizonews.net on Friday that “Pu Sangliana had a miraculous escape with only minor injuries despite the vehicle in which he was traveling was almost completely damaged.”
The former Member of Parliament from North Bangalore sustained a minor injury on his forehead and was immediately rushed to a nearby Lakshmi Venkateshwara Hospital, the source said.
Sangliana’s wife Pi Rothangpuii escaped unhurt.
“My parents were invovled in an accident on their way to Yalahanka. Dad recieved 7 stitches on the forehead..Mom is not physically hurt… God is good no one seriously injured,” Sangliana’s daughter Rachael said.
Yelahanka Traffic Police have arrested the driver of the mini-cab, Ananth Rao, who had escaped from the scene of the accident.
