Bellary: MLA and KMF chairperson G Somashekhara Reddy said here on Monday that it was more important for him to get his brother G Janardhana Reddy released from jail than facing the elections.
“For me, release of my brother from the jail is more important than elections,” he told mediapersons here on Monday.
He had accompanied BSR Congress president B Sreeramulu when the latter filed his nomination papers for the Assembly elections from Bellary Rural constituency here on Monday. To a query whether he would not contest the elections, Reddy said: “Twenty months have passed since my brother is arrested, and for the past 15 days I have been travelling to Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and other places to consult lawyers for securing bail for my brother. But, here, some are worried more about elections than my brother.”
“Two more days are left for the last date to file nominations and I will take a decision by then,” he added.
