Bangalore, Jan 3, 2014, DHNS: An employee of an ice cream parlour was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend at Bharathinagar on Friday.

Praveen Kumar, 24, a resident of Pulakeshi Nagar (who was working at the parlour in Bamboo Bazaar), was allegedly murdered by Niyaz, 24, of the same locality on Friday when he asked the latter to pay him Rs 5,000 for the repair of a motorcycle, police said|.

Kumar, a native of Davangere who had settled in the City four years ago, had lent his bike to Niyaz, a native of Anchepalya near Magadi recently. While returning the bike, there was a snag in the vehicle and Niyaz promised to pay for the repair, police said.

Kumar claimed that the repair cost him Rs 5,000 and pressured Niyaz to pay him the money. On Friday, at 1.45 pm, he went to Niyaz’s place. During a heated debate on the issue, Niyaz allegedly slashed him with a knife used to cut vegetables, and fled.

Kumar, who was injured in the abdomen, lay in a pool of blood for some time before being taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries, police said.
The Bharathinagar police arrested Niyaz and registered a case.
