Confess to ‘Maine Rishwat Di’

BANGALORE Aug 9: Janaagraha, city based NGO opened the Hindi version of I Paid a Bribe (IPAB) on Thursday. The IPAB is a platform where people who have either indulged in an act of corruption or opposed to pay bribe when asked for, share their experiences. The Hindi Version of the web based platform is called Maine Rishwat Di and was launched in Mumbai.

IPAB created a buzz among the common man in over 500 towns and cities in the country, receiving 20,000 reports and 20 lakh hits. Most of the reports are of instances which are of retail corruption and bribes that affects every citizen on a day to day basis.

It was launched by Shankar Mahadevan, Jayant Sinha, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Swati Ramanathan. The guests also launched the mobile application and SMS service for IPAB too. It is believed that `Maine Rishwat Di’ platform will touch lives of over 600 million people who speak and write Hindi and have instances to report.

Shankar Mahadevan, popular singer also announced about ‘Mujhe Shuru Hogi’ (it will start with me)—a global talent hunt that will be run by Janaagraha and Shankar Mahadevan Academy for best lyricist to compose an anti-corruption anthem. He will compose music for the lyrics.
