Recalling her initial days in Bollywood, Parineeti Chopra has said that her struggles with weight loss had been a blessing in disguise, as she changed for better over the years. The actress, who has been sporting a healthier look lately, shared a post on Instagram, taking a trip down memory lane, describing in length what inspired her to embark on a weight loss journey.
“All my life, I have struggled with how I look, how I feel, and how people looked at me. I was constantly made fun of, but the person I was, I generously laughed with them. Today, many people ask me what triggered the weight loss, did I give in to the “bollywood pressure”? To that I say – thank god I became an actor and had that pressure! … (sic)
However, not everyone is taking her post in a positive note. Some have criticised the Bollywood beauty for endorsing the idea of being skinny. But Parineeti has time and again reiterated that she is not supporting fat-shaming, but promoting fitness instead.
The 27-year-old actress has a point here. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t look even remotely close to the ‘waif look’ we see on the ramp; her body is fit and well-toned.
While Parineeti doesn’t swear by a particular style of diet or workout, she makes it a point to maintain a fine balance between both. Apart from that, she goes swimming, and also practises Kalaripayattu to stay in good shape.
Incidentally, her big sister Priyanka Chopra seems really proud and happy. A couple of months back when Parineeti unveiled her new avatar on social media by sharing photos from her Built That Way campaign, the Quantico star congratulated her on Twitter.
“4 years ago, a chubby, childish girl was introduced to the world. 4 years later, I am closer to where I want to be. A very special photoshoot made me get rid of my inhibitions, and portray the strong, confident girl I feel today.”
The latest issue of Filmfare has Parineeti on its cover, clad in blue relaxing on the beach, and she looks gorgeous. We guess it’s just a matter of time to see her sizzling on the screen in a bikini.
