Bangalore; These chain-snatchers certainly used a motorbike: but they also took a flight home.

The police announced the arrest of Vikki Singh (33), and Vishal Singh (23), who would fly in from their native Agra, take their bike parked at a bus-stand here, and go on a chain-snatching spree. They were reportedly involved in at least 22 cases of chain-snatching the past two months.

Alarmed by the spike in chain-snatchings in the West division of the city, the police formed a special squad to nab the elusive duo.

Several gold chains, totally weighing 1 kg and 7 grams and valued around Rs. 30 lakh, were seized from them.

Police said the duo, on arriving in Bangalore, would pick up their bike parked at some bus-stand and target women walking unaccompanied on the roads.

During investigation, police found they were responsible for several cases of chain-snatching across the city. This included five cases in Jnanabharathi police station, four each in Rajarajeshwari and Banaswadi police stations, two each in Indiranagar and Chandra Layout police limits, and one each in K.R Puram, Viveknagar, Hennur, Jayanagar and Vijayanagar police stations.
