Bengaluru: A man stole a bag containing Rs. 11 lakh from a vehicle parked outside the Karnataka Bank ATM kiosk on K.H. Road here on Saturday evening. Employees of CMS Infosystems had gone in that vehicle to to load the cash into ATM machine.

According to Police, at around 6.30 p.m., two employees of CMS Infosystems entered the kiosk with a bag of cash while the driver sat in the vehicle with another cash bag. While the two were busy loading cash in the machine, a man approached the driver and pointed out that some currency of Rs. 10 denomination had fallen on the road. When the driver alighted from the vehicle to pick up the currency, the man took away the cash bag that was kept in the vehicle and fled. CCTV camera footage shows three men, including the one who distracted the driver, wandering around the ATM kiosk suspiciously.

“The footage shows that the CMS employees neither raised an alarm nor were shocked when they realised that a man had stolen the cash bag from their vehicle. So we suspect their involvement in the crime,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) Sandeep Patil.

A CMS Infosystems representative confirmed that their employees had gone to load the cash, and that they were in the process of verifying the details of the incident.
