BENGALURU: Four senior women faculty members of the Centre for Kannada Studies, Bangalore University, have accused their head of department, Honnu Siddartha, of sexually harassing them.
One professor and three assistant professors submitted a complaint to B Thimme Gowda, vice-chancellor of the varsity, two weeks ago.
Thimme Gowda said there were differences between Siddartha and the four faculty, and that a notice has been issued to all the five to sort out the matter. “Honnu Siddartha complained to me about these four faculty leaving the university before duty hours and not attending the programmes conducted by the university,” Thimme Gowda added.
The incident came to light after the four faculty members approached the state women’s commission.Sources in the commission said that they have received the complaint which was about harassment in the workplace.
The matter will be discussed at the syndicate meeting on Wednesday.
