Mangalore, September 9: Due to incessant rains Jammu and Kashmir is battling one of the worst floods in decades with rivers in the region being swollen .Communication is off, there is no power supply. Srinagar is sub-merged; the National Highway from Jammu to Srinagar is cut-off. To safeguard the citizens, the Army and NDRF have launched a massive rescue mission, airlifting the affected people.
Naresh Nanda (41), who is the Regional Product Head of south HBD Financial Service, had visited Srinagar on Thursday September 4th, 2014 along with other Regional Product Head of the company to celebrate the completion of the targets in their respective regions. He was residing at The Lalith Group of Hotels in Srinagar. The family was regularly contacted until Monday evening of September 8th, after which the family was unable to get in touch with him. Naresh’s wife has been continually putting her efforts to find her husband by all means.
In a telephonic interview to the media, Surekha has said, “I tried to reach him through all possible ways; I also tried to contact the government officials but there is no response. Our two children are desperate to meet their father”.
