Kundapur, September 5: Before sun rise on Thursday September 4th, a pregnant woman went missing all of a sudden from her residence in Kundabarandadi village in the taluk, was found dead at an estuary near Gangolli here on Friday September 5th.
Mrs Baby Poojary (23), who was eight months pregnant, has not left behind any clue on abandoning her home unexpectedly. Finally on Friday morning, Baby’s body was found lying on the estuary here. The exact cause of her death is yet to be known.
It is gathered that, Baby was married to Suresh 16 months back. The neighbours said that the couple lived happily.
At around 4.30 am on Thursday, she suddenly went out of her home without informing anyone and the family members realized this at 4.45 am. They called her cell phone immediately and could hear the ringing tone. After 5 am, the cell phone began delivering ‘not reachable’ messages.
This created a sense panic among the villagers. The villagers from here and nearby villages involved with extensive search for the woman, but did not succeed in their task. After a frustrating day, the fire brigade was called in the evening. The firemen scoured three ponds nearby for her body without any success.
It is learnt that, Mr Suresh, working for a tile factory in Mavinakatte village near here, also functions as a daily deposit collection agent for a financial institution. He was intimate to his wife and the two appeared to be leading a happy life.
Her death has left behind a question to the cops and her neighbours since there are no apparent reasons for her to take this extreme step to commit suicide at moment where she was expected to be happy with her kid.
The Cops are investigating the case.
