Mangalore, August 28: A 20 year old young boy was knocked down to death on the spot by a bus at Bendoorwell bus stop on Thursday August 28th. He is identified as Thilakraj, son of Ishwar Nayak resident of Panemangalore.
It is gathered from the eyewitnesses that bus number-51 arriving from Konaje which was in a hurry to overtake another bus, had ran over the bus stop and immediately knocked the person to death who was waiting on the spot.
By profession, Thilak was an electrician who was working at a shop in Marnamikatte. He was waiting along with his friend Pradeep at the bus stop to board a bus to Marnamikatte. Pradeep was also injured in this accident.
People gathered at the spot and the cops had a tough time maintaining order.
Kadri police inspector T D Nagaraj arrived at the spot. The bus driver Ashfak was arrested by the cops and a case was registered.
