Mangalore International Airport Customs officers seized foreign currencies from 4 passengers

Mangalore: The officers of customs seized foreign currencies from four passengers at Mangalore International Airport on Wednesday, June 25

The passengers identified as Nasir Kappil Abdulla, Abdulla Kunhi, Abdul Jabbar, and Khalid Hassainer, residents of Uduma and Hidayatnagar, Kasargod were found carrying currencies, in US dollars, Oman rials and Kuwait dinars who were interceptd at the time of their departure to Sharjah by Air India Express flight IX823.

The seized foreign currencies amount to 10,000 US dollars, 1,950 Oman rials, and 1,450 Kuwait dinars. The currencies were concealed inside their hang baggages.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pravin Vinod, assistant commissioner of customs at Mangalore International Airport, by a team consisting of superintendents Marcus Pereira, R S Venkataram, R G Gaonkar, S K Nelli, and inspectors Prashant Tiwari, K Nirmala and Ankit Kumar, and havaldar Gopal.

Further investigation is under progress under the guidance of D Purushotham, commissioner of customs.
