Mangalore: The Pandeshwar Police arrested a corporator of Kudroli ward on Saturday, June 21 for allegedly obstructing MCC officials from discharging their duties and for threatening.
Azeez Kudroli, corporator, Kudroli, threatened and abused Shivaraj and Balaraj, city planning officials, and interfered in the official work during their visit to Neereshwallya on June 10 while conducting the inspection along with Shanadi Ajith Kumar Hegde, Commissioner, MCC, stated in a complaint.
Shivaraj also had alleged Kudroli of giving life threats while discharging his official duties.
Police sources said that a city court has sent Azeez to judicial custody for 15 days.
A case under Sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC has been booked against the corporator, police source said.
