Mangalore, June 15, 2014 : In what was a new experience for the blood donors, blood donation camp was held in a luxurious in-house built blood collection bus in Mangalore on Saturday. Students of Athena College and St Aloysius College were seen eagerly waiting for their turn to get into the bus to donate blood.
On the occasion of World Blood Donors’ day, the district unit of Indian Red Cross Society (ICRS) in association with Health and Family Welfare Department, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit and Karnataka State Govt Employees Association had organized voluntary blood donation camp at NGO Hall premises in the City.
The ‘Blood Mobile Bus’ from Bangalore arrived at Mangalore to facilitate the blood donation camp. The four seater Volvo bus painted red, has all modern facilities for the blood collection, examination and storage.
The bus which is on a two-day visit to Dakshina Kannada district, conducted blood donation camp for general public in Sullia taluk on Friday and in Mangalore on Saturday. If 78 units blood
