Mangalore, May 26: Enthusiasm and celebrations was witnessed in Coastal districts on the occasion of Narendra Damodardas Modi’s swearing in as the 15th Prime Minister of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Monday. BJP district office in Mangalore had arranged for a grand celebration all over the district.
BJP district office in PVS was crowded with hundreds of people to witness the historic moment of swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, which was being telecast live across the country. A huge LED display screen was put up outside the BJP office to watch their national leader Modi being sworn-in as the Prime Minister of the country.
The party workers began distributing tea in paper cups, along with snacks, to the milling crowd and passing vehicles near the traffic junction. As Modi took the centre-stage to take his oath in the presence of President of India Pranab Mukherjee, party workers began bursting crackers at the traffic junction to celebrate the occasion.
The swearing-in ceremony was being watched by people on TV and LED screens set up at different places. People were seen celebrating by sharing sweets, bursting crackers and cheering aloud in places like Thokkottu, Dongerekeri, Pandeshwar, Urwa Store, Pumpwell, Car Street and other places.
In both Mangalore and Udupi, large LED and LCD screens were set up to watch the swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi.
Supporters, party workers and leaders of BJP units in Udupi and Mangalore districts broke out in celebrations on this occassion. The scenes were such that the moment would be remembered for a long time to come.
