Mangalore, May 2: Former deputy CM and senior BJP leader K.S.Eshwarappa said that State Minister for Youth Affairs and Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain making a threatening call to a Kannada daily reporter for publishing reports on the Niddodi thermal power project, is condemned.
Speaking at the press meet held at District BJP Office on May 2, Friday, he said that it is first of a kind, where a minister has threatened to assault a reporter, hence he must resign from the post.
He also said that Minister Jain must seek an apology from a journalist for threatening him through a phone call. He urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to dismiss Jain from the cabinet.
Eshwarappa said that Jain has insulted the media and democracy, but assured not to politicize the issue.
MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, former ministers Nagaraj Shetty, Kota Srinivas Poojari and District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak were present .
