Mangalore, May 2: Police arrested five Bharat Kranti Sena activists for organizing protest outside the Malabar Gold showroom in the city on May 2, Friday.
Addressing the gathering, protestors said that the Malabar Gold jewellery house is using the Hindu youth to smuggle gold from foreign countries.
The Sena activists cried out the slogans against Malabar Gold in front of large number of customers who were present in the showroom on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Eventhough the police asked them to stop the protest and slogans, the activists continued leading to their arrest.
The arrested activists are Sena National Vice President of the Sena, Rajesh Poojary, state president Lohit Kumar, Chief Secretary Udaya Shanker, Hemanth Kumar and Naveen.
Later the police sent another group of the Sena activists who also came to protest at the place.
