Custom officials seizes gold worth Rs. 8,02,326 from Kerala passenger

Mangalore, April 14: The Customs official arrested a passenger and seized gold weighing 272.900 grams, valued at Rs. 8,02,326 at Mangalore International Airport on April 14, Monday.

The arrested passenger has been identified as Mohammed Jabir (23), son of Mohammed Kunhi, residing at Mahinabad House, Thekkil PO, Kasargod, Kerala who had carried gold concealed in the form of foil strips in the carton box.

The passenger had arrived by Jet Airways flight No. 9W531 from Dubai at Mangalore International Airport at 7: 45 am.

The arrest operations were conducted under the supervision of Hemen Gogi, Dy. Commisioner of customs, MIA.
