Mangalore, Mar 31: A fight erupted between Congress party workers in Ullal block Congress office on March 31, Monday.
The clash erupted when Kallapu ward councilor Usman raged over block Congress president Eshwar on an identity card issue, when his photo in the booth agent ID card was replaced by someone else’s photo.
Angered Usman barged into the block office and lashed out at the president, giving raise to heated conversation between both, in turn Eshwar’s loyalist Murali assaulted Usman and asked him to leave the office. Immediately Usman came back with his group and threatened to kill the block Congress president.
It is learnt that, earlier too Usman and Eshwar have been involved in fights and had established separate groups within the party in Ullal.
Several equipments in the office were destroyed by the irate party workers.
Following the incident, a police team was deployed to provide security to Eshwar at the Congress office.
