Kidnap, blackmail case: Crime was premeditated

MANGALORE: The Mangalore City Police which submitted the chargesheet pertaining to the Deralakatte kidnap and blackmail case to the Third JMFC court here on Wednesday has found evidence that the act was premeditated.

The 554 page chargesheet states that the accused had formed a gang and was planning to carry out such act to extort money. The cases in the chargesheet on the accused include gang rape, blackmail, outraging the modesty of a woman, extortion, destruction of evidence and some provisions of IT act for recording the act on the mobile.

Some of the accused are also wanted in various crime in Mulki station limits and they have been interrogated by the police in this connection

The chargesheet also mentions that the accused had been uttering the names of accused involved in the Home Stay accused to throw the investigation off track. That the accused forced the boy to have Viagra to carry out the sexual act is also mentioned, but sources said the boy had not taken the pill.

The gang accosted the two students from Meeting Point Bar and Restaurant near Sri Ayyappa Bhajana Mandir at Deralakatte on December 18 at 11pm. The accused allegedly abused the students and forcibly took them to a desolate house at a desolate place. Here, the accused directed the students to indulge in sexual act. When they refused, they were threatened with life. The gang later filmed their sexual act performed under duress using their mobile phones.
