Mangalore, Mar 12: Mangalore City Corporation election for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor will be held on March 13, Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting of city corporators convened by Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai to collect their opinions about nominating suitable candidates to these two posts was held on Monday, while the meeting of Congress MLAs and top leaders of the district Congress committee is also planned for today and the nominees for the posts will be revealed in the evening.
Out of the 35 Congress City corporators, the names of Harinath, Lancylot Pinto, Mahabala Marla, Naveen D’Souza and Bhaskar Moily have emerged as forerunners for the post of the mayor. Once the name of first citizen is finalized, the candidate for the post of deputy mayor will be decided.
