Mangalore, Mar 12: A total number of 34,185 students in Dakshina Kannada district and 15,680 students in Udupi district are appearing for the II PUC examinations to be held from March 12, Wednesday to March 27.
Around 7008 students are appearing for arts subjects, 15,213 for commerce and 11,964 for science examination.
Out of 34,185 students, 30,617 are freshers, 1200 repeaters and 2468 private students will appear for examination in 49 centres. A total of 16,683 are boys, and 17,502 girls.
The ten special squads will have president and three members each, and these squads will conduct surprise visits to the examination centres. The principals of PU College have been designated as presidents of these teams, while teaching staff as members.
The district administration has already issued instructions to Xerox shops in the 400 meters radius of exam centres to close during the examination days.
