Thieves broke into house and kidnap 14-year-old mentally ill to decamp with valuables worth Rs 95,000

Bantwal, Mar 7: Thieves broke into a house and decamped with cash and jewellery from a house located near national highway 75 at Maripalla in Farangipete on March 6, Thursday.

The house belongs to Mariyamma. The thieves also said have kidnapped 14-year-old mentally ill daughter to a desolate place at night and left her there and decamped with valuables worth Rs 95,000.

It is learnt that Mariyamma satys in the house with children and sister Zubeida, since Mariyamma’s husband stays abroad. The thieves entered the house from the back door, when all of them had gone to sleep at around 10 pm.

As per the complaint filed by the family, the thieves have stolen two gold chains weighing two sovereigns and cash of Rs 15,000.

The thieves took the mentally and physically challenged girl with them and left her near a house about two furlongs away and pelted stones at that house. The owner of the house who came out found the girl weeping.

Bantwal circle inspector Rajashekar Mistry, Bantwal rural sub-inspector Nagaraj and team arrived the spot. Canine squad and fingerprint experts pressed into action.

A case has been registered in Bantwal rural police station.
