Mangalore : A great day! A special day indeed in the History of Carmel School Kotekar. ANIRUDH MADUSUDHAN of Std.V has secured a SILVER MEDAL in the 1st IGKO GOJU –RYU WORLD KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2014 held at Satyan Resort PUNJAB organized by International GOJU RYU Karate Do Organization under the supervision of Karate Academy of Japan Goju-Ryu International, Australia which is a member of Japan karate Do Federation Goju Kai,JAPAN.
We celebrated Anirudh’s victory with much pomp and show along with the Guests, Parents, friends, well-wishers and the public too. Having welcomed him at Beeri junction with Arati and a Garland we proceeded towards the school in a procession led by the school band and students holding lovely pluck cards, voicing out slogans and strewing of flowers etc. Anirudh along with his sister Anika who is also a National Champion in Karate was shining in a decorated vehicle who caught the attraction of every passer-by.
In the school we organized a short honoring ceremony during which MRS.JYOTHIKA the President of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike- women’s wing and the owner of Devika Sarees Palace Mangalore honored Anirudh. Dr.Mr.JOBI the Chairman Meridian College Ullal honored him with a certificate and a Medal received at PUNJAB. Sr. Carmel Rita A.C. the Assistant Provincial superior Karnataka Province Mangalore honored Anirudh through a Garland. SENSEI DHARANAPPA the 3rd DAN Belt, a Trainer Western Institute of Karate Mangalore, Mr. Yogish Shetty Jeppu the Founder President of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike were present along with the parents of Anirudh.
Classes I to X prepared creative greeting cards and garlands and offered them to Anirudh on this great occasion. At the end Anirudh thanked the gathering and presented a few steps in Karate to the audience. In short it was an unique event that filled our hearts with joy and gratitude to God.
