Mangalore Lok Sabha : Harsha Moily’s nomination for Congress primary rejected

Mangalore, Mar 2: The selection committee of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) rejected the nomination filed by Lok Sabha aspirant Harsha Moily to contest the Congress internal election from Mangalore on March 2, Sunday.

Internal election observer Praniel Nair rejected the nomination of Harsha Moily, son of union minister Dr Veerappa Moily in regard for failing to meet the eligibility criteria set by the AICC.
According to the party’s handbook, ‘A person of standing in public service/social cause and who is not a member of any other political party’ can file the nomination for the primary, but Harsha Moily’s nomination was rejected on this claim.
Further the internal election will be held between veteran leader Janardhan Poojary and state vice-president of Congress Minority Cell U Kanachur Monu which will be held on March 9 and the results will be declared on the same day.
