Mangalore, Mar 2: After serving Mangalore as the SP of Dakshina Kannada and first Commissioner of Mangalore Police Commissionerate, Seemant Kumar Singh will return back to city and serve as an Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Western Range.
Singh who is presently serving as Commander, Anti-Naxal Force, Udupi will take charge from present incumbent C.H. Pratap Reddy, who has been transferred to Bangalore as secretary to the home department.
Singh born on August 10, 1970 hails from Ranchi and served as the superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada between 2000 and 2004, and as city’s first commissioner of police between 2010 and 2012.
