Mangalore: Prakhyath Naik and Jnanesh Salian paired team of Global Shuttle Academy secured the first prize in the Men’s Open Doubles Shuttle Badminton Tournament by outclassing their opponents Jagdish and Deekshith duo team by margin of 21-13, 21-16 points in the thrilling final encounter of the “Rotary Inter Dist Shuttle Badminton Tournament” conducted by Rotary Club of Mangalore South from 22 – 23 February 2014 in U.S. Mallya Indoor Stadium.
Dy. Suptd. of Police Mr. Jayanth Shetty was the chief guest during the prize distribution ceremony and presented the Rotary glittering trophy to the winners and congratulated them for their splendid exhibition of attack and defence.
Bharath Petroleum Dealer Mr. Sanjeev Poojary, Rotary Club of Mangalore South President Rtn. Jagadish Shetty, Tournament Secretary Rtn. Jayashaknar Kulal and Tournament Convenor Rtn. Jagadish Attavar were present on this occasion. Rtn. Nandini Raghuram proposed a vote of thanks.
A large number of sports enthusiasts witnessed the action packed exciting final match. About 22 teams from D.K., Udupi, Kasaragod districts competed in this event.
