Mangalore : ‘Run For Unity’, the third edition of the Nitte Mangalore Half Marathon was held at the Mangala Stadium on Sunday February 23.
The event was organizsed in association with the Dakshina Kannada Athletics Association, Life is Calling Sports and Karnataka Athletics Association in which thousands of people including young and old participated in the run.
The run was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim, Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation and Mangalore Police Commissioner Hithendra Prasad and N. Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University the official sponsor of the Marathon.
In the competitive category there was 21 km half marathon, 10 km run, 3 km run for high school girls, and 5 km run for college boys and girls and high school boys.
The non-competitive category had a five km dream run/walk.
