Bantwal, Feb 22: In yet another case, a young woman from Kanyana in Vittal, married eight months ago allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself, on February 20, Thursday night.
The deceased identified as Savitha (27), daughter of Uggappa Gowda, hailing from Hirebail in Moodigere of Chikmagalur district. Savitha was said to have married to Sunil, son of Sankappa Gowda of Kanichar in Kanyana Village eight months ago.
Savitha’s parents in their complaint files at Vittal police stated that Sunil used to often come home drunk and tortured her physically and mentally.
Although, she was taken to a private hospital in Puttur, doctor declared her brought dead.
According to the sources, Savitha’s body had injuries in the neck. A post mortem report is awaited.
