Mangalore, Feb 14: Sri Vishweshatirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said that attempt to destroy the Hindu religion or its leaders will not be tolerated. If the government or the police department fails to provide justice to the clash victims, then Hindu religious heads will go on a fast.

Speaking after interacting with the Ullal clash victims at Sri Vyaghra Chamundeshwari Temple, held as a part of ‘Sanyasigala Nade Santrasatara Kade’ programme, Swamiji also said that he will give the detailed report of the Ullal clash to the chief minister and the governor and urge to provide compensation to victims and also repair the boats damaged by miscreants, release innocents from jail and withdraw murder attempt charges imposed on juveniles.

He urged the Hindus to not get entertained by provoking anybody, since Hindus never do injustice to people of other religions, but if anybody makes injustice to Hindu’s the Hindu religious heads will not remain silent.

Commenting on the statement given by home minister during his visit to Mangalore, that visit of Swamiji’s to Ullal is politically motivated, but it cannot be considered as serious statement, since It is the duty of Hindu religious heads to visit the houses of victims belonging to their community and render their support. The Swamijis have a responsibility towards society and bigger responsibility towards the Hindu society, he added.

One of the victims, Dhanyavati said that around 1.45 am, a man in guise of girl accompanied by a man wearing a coat knocked the door of the house. Thinking the people are back after fishing to home, she opened the door. But the duo pulled out a boy out of the house and thrashed him. Hence he pleaded to provide protection to live in peace.

She also said that we wanted to speak to the local MLA and request to provide protection, but he only visited one part of the town and left without talking to us.
