Justice Bhaktavatsala inaugurates newly constructed District Court Complex

Mangalore, Feb 8: Karnataka high court judge Justice K Bhaktavatsala inaugurated the newly constructed District Court Complex at Court Hill road near St Aloysius College on Feb 8, Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is the right of every common man to come forward and speak the truth and report their peculiar crimes to get speedy justice.

Judges and advocates are the two sides of the same coin and it is their duty to support of crime victims and which will encourage public to openly take help of police and court to report their crimes.

He also appreciated RTI Act proposed by former PM Rajiv Gandhi, which was first implemented in Karnataka during the regime of S M Krishna.

Appreciating the new court building, he said that the district court which has been located the top of hill looks like the place of worship; hence the Advocates and judges must provide the fundamental right of every citizen by giving them justice.

He also released a souvenir to commemorate the occasion.

District in charge minister Ramanath Rai said that the court was established on the hill by the great leaders of the past. The contribution of Srinivas Mallya who was close to Jawaharlal Nehru must also be remembered. At present the legal system with the RTI and other new laws have been strengthened. The RTI has brought many cases into light.

Health minister U T Khadar said that District has good court and facilities unlike in other states. And the Advocates and ministers share a good rapport. The advocates must take effort to provide justice to the victims and grant strict punishment to the culprits which will reduce the crimes.

MLA J R Lobo and MLCA Monappa Bhandary also spoke on the occasion.

B V Prakash, district and sessions court judge welcomed the gathering. Senior advocate Kallige Taranath Shetty compered the programme.

High court judge Abdul Nazeer, DC  AB Ibrahim, City Police Commissioner R Hithendra, SP  Shanthanu Sinha, Karnataka State Bar Council vice-chairman B Ravindranath Rai and P Ashok Ariga were present.
