Bantwal, Feb 8: Based on the complaint filed by Naveen Kumar, resident of BC Road who lost his wife and unborn bay due to the negligence of Doctors of Somayaji Hospital, the Bantwal police took Dr Rameshanand Somayaji to custody on February 7, Friday.
In support to victim, hundreds of locals staged a protest in front of hospital and on the National Highway blaming medical negligence of hospital and demanding action against the hospital and doctor.
The locals also appealed Health Minister U T Khader to take action against the hospital since there were several cases of deaths of pregnant women.
It is recalled that Chanchalakshi (29), wife of Naveen Kumar of BC Road was admitted to the hospital for her second delivery, died due to complications after she was injected with medicine for getting labour pain
