Although Chanchalakshi did not have labour pains, the doctors decided to admit and inject and take her to  labour room. However after injecting the medicine, her condition is said to have deteriorated. She turned dark and soon the doctors declared her dead. The doctor had also said that baby was still alive and could be saved, Hence an arrangement was made to take the mother to Mangalore by ambulance, but on the way the baby also died, he added.
