Mangalore, Feb 6: The body of renowned scholar, philosopher and mathematician Prof. Stephen Vadakkan was found in a decomposed state at the YMCA Hostel on February 6, Thursday.
Prof. Stephen Vadakkan aged 61, hailed from Doopadakatte in Karkala was staying in the hostel since January 31.
The incident came into light when hostel watchman who passed by the room of Professor sensed foul smell and entered into the room and found him lying dead. He immediately informed the authorities and police in this regard.
According to the sources, Prof might have committed suicide and also left behind a note asking to pay the room fee.
The Kadri police have reached the spot and the investigation is on.
