Udupi; Jan 23: When the lecturer, who took only 22 classes in seven months, came to college to collect his salary and transfer letter, students and school development committee members have demanded an action against him and this incident happened on Jan 23, Thursday in Kaup.
The students and school development committee members demanded an action against Kaup, Polipu government P.U.College’s lecture Kolar’s Amaranarayana Swamy and students remained absent in the afternoon.
Deputy Director of the Udupi education, Shinde, who arrived to the spot, assured that he will write a letter to his higher authorities recommending for his suspension.
Back ground of the incident:
It was told that Amaranarayana Swamy, who was appointed in the month of June, took only 22 classes in seven months. But every month he used to come to the college regularly to collect his monthly salary. Even on Jan 23, Thursday, he came to college to collect his salary and transfer letter from the college. When he went to the class, students enquired about his absence. Then he gave unsatisfactory answer and then students, took him for criticism/task.
The locals and school development committee members, who did come to know about the matter, arrived to the college and expressed their dissatisfaction against the lecturer and demanded for education authorities to come. At that time, an altercation, argument between lecturer and general public occurred.
Torn show cause notice:
Veena Rao, principal of the college has issued a show cause notice to him asking him to give an explanation for unofficial leaves, he took. He tore that letter in front of everybody. Enraged public started getting spark against him.
S.S.Shinde, deputy director of P.U.degree education department, who arrived to the place assured that he will write a letter to his higher authorities, recommending for his suspension. In this incident, Principal Veena applied for her self- retirement and he said that it does not have any impact with this development, he clarified.
