Kundapur; Jan 08: Due to the movements of heavy vehicles of Navayug Company, which is doing four-lane works on Suratkal-Kundapur national highway, condition of Kota-Goliangady road has completely been deteriorated. Since neither elected local representatives nor concerned authorities of Navayug Company responding to the problems, hardship of people, public and Janajagrathi Vedhike activists staged a protest on Jan 08, Wednesday by blocking the movements of Navayuga vehicles.
Protestors alleged that daily around 25 vehicles of 20-30 ton capacity belonging to Navayuga Company are moving daily carrying gravel in it. As a result of this, in one side dust along with ponds and pothole on Kota-Goliyangady road’s Shirur Moorukai-Avarse road has been completely deteriorated. One pregnant woman had a miscarriage while travelling on this road and many people have broken their legs and hands. But without bothering for all these problems, concerned people showing their ignorance and watching the fun of the people and protestors expressed their anger.
