More police personnel’s will be deputed to check anti-social elements: UT Khader

Mangalore, Jan 4: Minister for health and family welfare U T Khader said that the people involved in the anti-social elements are not scared of police, since they are sure to get out on bail, immediately after getting arrested.

Addressing a press meet at the circuit house on Jan 4, Saturday said that there is lack of police personnel’s since most of the post have fallen vacant, hence it will be recruited soon. There is need of strict police officers who will respond to the complaints of every common people. Police have to take strict action against them, he said.

Students often get addicted to drugs, alcohol and many such things; hence police department must keep an eye on habitual offenders. There is need to start night patrolling and every vehicle entering the college campus must be checked.

Khader also said that security guards in colleges must be trained and be strict with the students coming to Mangalore from far places to pursue their education.

The shops near the colleges must be brought under scanner so that students will not get into habit of smoking and ganja, he said.

City Police Commissioner Hithendra, representatives from various institutions like Father Muller, KMC, Yenepoya, Nitte and P A Engineering were also present at the meeting
