Congress govt will not tolerate moral police act by any religion: Rai

Mangalore, Dec 28: State Forest Minister B Ramanath Rai said that the increasing numbers of moral police activities are defaming the districts and district congress condemn the incidents.

Addressing the press meet held at District Congress office on Dec 28, Saturday, he said that further the concerned officials are directed to take strict action against the people involved in moral policing.

Rai also said that Congress being a strong and secular party will not tolerate any moral policing activity irrespective of caste and creed.

He also said that he has sent an appeal to the home minister to book goons involved moral policing act under Goonda Act. The police officials who entertain the goons will also be taken action, he added.

Congress will work to remove the moral police act from the grass root level and none of the goons will be pardoned, he said.


Congress leaders Kodijal Ibrahim, Suresh Ballal, Shashidhar Hegde, T K Sudhir and others were present.
