Kundapur; Dec 04: The eighth annual day celebration of Vakwady Gurukula public school and P.U.College was held recently.Hon’ble former chancellor of Manipal University, Padmabhushan award winner Dr.B.M.Hegde was the chief guest of honor of the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Hegde spoke about the implementation of the value based education in the modern India system. In India value of the traditional education system has disappeared and Indian heritage system is still alive.
He further said that English is the official language has established its presence all over the world. But though Sanskrit is a renowned language, it is a great catastrophe that it is losing its predominance in its mother land. Therefore it is inevitable to give more emphasis on the study of Sanskrit in schools.
He also said that in the current education system emphasis is given only on collection of informations, acquisition of knowledge is disregarded. So parents, teachers must create a situation for the all round development of child and try to ensure that talents to blossom, he said.
Shree .Appanna Hegde,founder president of Bandya education trust (R) has presided over the function.Bandya education Trust® joint administrators like Shree Subashchandra Shetty and Smt.Anupama.S.Shetty,management executive Dr.G.H.Prabhakara Shetty,P.U.College principal Shree Praveen Shetty,Gurukula public school’s principal Smt.Roopa Shenoy were present on the occasion.
Kumari Shivani Shetty, II P.U.C.student compered the programme, Sachin.S.Shetty, II P.U.C.student proposed a vote of thanks.Kumari Amshu.S.Shetty, 10th standard student delivered a welcome speech.Romel D’souza, 10th standard student introduced the guests.
After the stage programme, a spectacular, an attractive ‘Nrityotsava’programme was organized by the students of both institutions with great pomp.
