Human scarifice case: Sarika’s body to be exhumed

Sullia, Nov 3: The body of one and a half year old Sarika who reportedly was a victim of black magic will be exhumed on December 3, Tuesday as per the directive of the Puttur Assistant Commissioner.

The Tahshildar of Sullia has approved for the exhumation of the body.

The approval has been accorded owing to widespread demand by locals as well as Sarika’s parents as they are suspecting that Sarika was sacrificed for black magic by treasure hunters.

On August 11, Sarika, daughter of Mohandas and Bhavani of Charmatha, who had went missing mysteriously. Thirteen days later her body was found near Jenukodi stream without head and right arm.

The Police which had conducted post mortem had stated in its report that the baby had died due to drowning. However as the body of the baby was found without head and right arm the locals started suspecting that Sarika was sacrificed.
