World Disabled Day celebrated in the city

Mangalore, Dec. 3: The government has implemented many projects for the development of disable people. Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat has released Rs. 2 crore for the welfare of the disabled and the money is using for welfare of endosulfan victims. The god will always be there with the person who helps the disable people said Koragappa Naik, president of D.K. Zilla Panchayat.

He participated as the chief guest in the World Disabled Day celebration jointly organized by D.K. Zilla Panchayat, woman and children welfare department, adults and disabled rehabilitation department, Indian Medical Association D.K. district unit; Lions club Mangalore and various department of govt. The programme held at St. Sabastian Auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Koragappa Naik further said that the government helping the disabled by implementing various projects. It also distributing 50,000 subsidies for the people who marry the disabled people, he added.

Dinesh Nayak and Muralidhar Nayak who achieved lot as a disable inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

MCC joint commissioner Gokuldas Nayak, Indian Medical Association D.K. district committee president Dr. Rajesh Ballal, Lions club K.C. Prabhu, M. Ganesh Shetty, Businessman Manohar Heggade, Urmila Ramesh Kumar were present at the occasion.
