Stone quarry manager kidnapping case: Former gram panchayat president arrested

Mangalore, Nov 23: The police arrested former gram panchayat president of Ira and Congress activist Abdul Razaq Kukkaje on November 21st Thursday night for kidnapping stone quarry manager of Bajpe- Yedapadav.

It is said that Abdul Razak was said to be absconding.

On August 24, Abdul Razaq, quarry manager Hassainar along with others had kidnapped quarry manager Anwar Sadat from Kerala and attacked him. A case was registered with Bajpe police.

Hassainar and other accused were arrested earlier. But Abdul Razaq was absconding in Kerala. The police had kept an eye on him. Police received information that he had taken refuge in Uppala, and with the help of mobile phone trackers, his movement was watched.

On Thursday Nov. 21, police confirmed that he was in Bantwal area limits, and at around midnight, he was arrested from his house in Kukkajebail.

He was then taken to Bajpe police station. He was arrested by the team of police led by Bajpe Inspector Narasimhamurthy on Friday and was produced before the Court.
