Mangalore, Nov 11: The parent of 14 year old Sohan, who was drowned at the MCC swimming pool, has handed over an appeal to the City Police Commissioner Manish Kharbhikar to investigate about his death on Nov 11, Monday.

In a complaint with the Commissioner, Sohan’s father HD Somashekhar said that as Sohan was a member of the MCC Swimming pool since 2008, it was difficult to believe that he had drowned in the pool. “Some students had hatred against Sohan who was studying in eighth standard in Amritha Vidyalaya and was a talented student. Sohan used to tell me that Tejas, Sriman and two others were troubling him,” the complaint said

After the death, it was said that Sohan had died of heart attack and also that food got stuck in his throat when he dived, but it was not the reason since he was a good swimmer and member of MCC swimming pool since 2008.

It further said so “It has been learnt that Tejas, Sriman and two others were in the pool when Sohan died. Sohan’s cheeks and edges of his eyes had marks of blood clot. I had complained to the SI and Barke police suspecting the cause of Sohan’s death. But they had registered an FIR mentioning this as an accidental death.”

A few days before Sohan’s parents heard him shouting in his dream to be killed. Parents also said that Sohan was being harassed by four of classmates of Amrita Vidyalaya. They had also advised Tejas to mend his ways, but still they continued to harass.

They have also lodged a complaint with Barke Police suspecting the hands of his classmates behind the death. They have also demanded a thorough investigation into the case.
