Beltangady, Nov 9: Once again naxal attack to Naravi of coastal district. A group of 10 to 20 armed Naxals reportedly visited Kutlur gram panchayat member Ramachandra Bhat’s house in Beltangady, Naravi on Saturday November 9 and set fire the property.
The Naxals arrived at around 2 am and knocked the doors of Ramachandra Bhat. On refusal they set the car, bike and shed on fire thereby leaving the trial of damage.
There is every possibility of the Naxals resorting to such a step in an act of vengeance as Bhat runs an NGO and also assists forest dwellers by encouraging them to come out of the forest area and accept the rehabilitation package offered by the government.
In the wake of the Naxal attack, IGP Pratap Reddy, SP Shantanu Sinha along with other senior officials visited the spot.
The Anti-Naxal Force has started its combing operation in Kutlur.
