Mangalore Sisters receive Karnataka Chethana State Title Award

Mangalore, Oct. 19: Twin sisters Ananya S Rao and Apoorva S Rao, received the ‘Karnataka Chethana’ state title awarded by Jnana Mandaara Cultural and Educational Trust recently at Kannada Bhavana Nayana Rangamandira, Bangalore.

These two are also popularly known as ‘Mangalore Sisters’

They are daughter of a businessman Sadashiva Rao and mother Manjula Rao reside at Urwa stores, Mangalore. The sisters are currently studying ‘Vidvat’ in ‘Bharathanatyam’ under Guru Vidushi Vidyashree Radhakrishna of ‘Gaana Nrithya Academy’.

The two sisters’ are students of Ladyhill high school 10 standard. They have been studying this dance form from the past ten years and have also completed the senior grade examination with distinction.

They have recently performed a show which was telecast on Doordarshan ‘Chandana’, “Naada neerajanam” of Tirupathi, IMA Udupi.
