Mangalore, Oct 1: MLA J R Lobo, along with other officials visited the Kadri Park for the examination here on Tuesday, October 01, as per the memorandum received by Dr K R Shetty and others with regards to the rebuilding and Maintenance of Kadri Park.
Addressing the media, Lobo said, the blueprint for the developmental works is ready, but that needs few changes in it. There is a need for the construction of a musical fountain. The total area width here is 1.75 acres, out of which 1.25 acres will be utilized for the musical fountain and the remaining 50 cents to be utilized for children play area.
The Kadri Park will be rebuit as a general park that will include joggers, walking track along with greenery, plantations, pathway and landscapes. The MUDA, Horticulture Department and MCC jointly took the initiation of the project.
The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs 5 crores, out of which nearly 2.30 crores have already been sanctioned and the remaining funds will be collected from various sources. The project is to be completed within the next 12 to 15 months, he said.
MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde, officials Mohammed Nazeer,Rajendra kalbhavi, Praveen, Dr K R Shetty, architect Vasanth Pai leaders Dennis D’Souza, Walter lobo, Nelson, Mohan Mendon, Krithin Kumar, Jayakar Samarth and others were present.
