Mangalore, Sep 27: The students of various college and the members of Akhila Bharatha Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest rally from Ambedkar Circle Jyoti to DC office on Friday 27th Sept, in regard with the mysterious death of Akshatha.
The students were urged for the speedy inquiry and demanding the arrest of the murderer. And also they urged that the Police should be transparent, impartial and provide justice to death case of Akshatha”.
The ABVP Joint Secretary, Mahipal said that the incident has created fear among students as well as their parents. “
He further said that in these days many cases like women harassment, teenage girls going missing, kidnapped, raped and murdered happening in Dakshina Kannada. Like the case of Soujanya, Manipal rape case Akshatha’s case is also one of them.
Addressing the protesters the student of the Car street college, Ashwini Raj Shetty said ”We do not want to handover the boy to police, If some someone trace him hen we want to thrash him with sandals in public so that whoever thinks to Rape or sexually harass any girl should think twice before doing so.
The distressed students submitted a memorandum to DC, which should be submitted to the Chief Minister on this occasion.
Various leaders of ABVP and students from different colleges of the city participated in the protest.
