Mangalore, Sep 23: The development work of fisheries harbour will start soon said sports, youth and fisheries minister K Abhaya Chandra Jain.

Addressing the meeting held at C office on Monday 23 sep., he indicated the officer that the project of department should implemented and the facilities given by the department should reach eligible beneficiaries he said.

Development of the Jetty at Kulayi and Hejamadi: For the development of Kulayi Jetty CWPRS (Central Water Power Research Centre) SIECP (Central Institute of Coastal Experience For Fisheries) were already get the approval. And related to Kundapur Hejamadi harbour of soil is sent for the test. After receiving the report will take action on this he said.

Waiver on diesel sales charges: Dragging work at alave and channel were done in the cost of Rs. 4.54 crore. At present state government put the waiver on diesel sales charge.

Online registration: According to central Merchant Shipping Act every boat who involved in fisheries should be registered through online at the fisheries department. Till now 2,120 machinery boats, 4,615 motor boats and 1,925 traditional boats were registered, said assistant director Parshwanath.

Mathsya Mahila Swavalambhana Project: Under this project fishery woman will get various facilities. And if any died while fishing their family will get 50000from relief fund. Nearly 26,739 fishers got the identity card.
