Rajiv Gandhi Chitanya Scheme initiated by the State Government.: Minister H K Patil

Mangalore, Sep 16: Minister H K Patil vowed to initiate various developmental programmes and schemes including Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya and others as immediately after coming to power.

 Under the rajiv gandhi Chitanya scheme, the government has already established 1000 exceedind units in the state to supply clean drinking water and to waive off the loans of the minorities and SC/ ST, he orated in the press meet.

he also mentioned that the Congress Government has accomplished more then 50% of its promise which were mentioned in the election manifesto in just 100 days of its term.As part of rural development project, government will build toilets for 56 lakhs families. At present 1000 toilets are under construction, he said.

The previous government has not complied with around 95% of ward meetings and 70% gram panchayat meetings, but the Congress government aims to improve the work speed in all panchayaths.

The Confress party also aims to orovude employment oppoutunities to 2 lakhs youths from rural villages, out them one lakh youths will be trained for 45 days to one month in dairy, pottery and poultry, in order to improve the condition of the unemployed youth.

When questioned on the Yettinahole Project, Mr. H K Patil said,” “As of now I do not have any information regarding the project. This is the first time I have been asked this question. It was not discussed in the floor of the Assembly either. I too have doubts over the issue. So give me time, let me study this project and then answer you.”

Congress leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Suresh Ballal, Kallige Tharnath Shetty, Sadashiv Ullal ad others were present.
