Mangalore ,Sep 12: A press meet was held in the B.R.C office ,Ghanhinagar today morning by the Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan scheme . Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) is government of India’s Flagship programme to achieve universalization of elementary education.
Mr.Abhay Chandra Jain , The Youth & Sports Minister orated that Dakshina Kannada District has highly benefited from this scheme. Further he mentioned that the Government has allotted Rs.26 crores this year since, no civil work has to be done. Last year Rs 50 crores was allotted. In Government schools there is vacancy in post of teachers. Presently this vacancy is not filled since the number of students is scarce. When there is escalation in the number of students teachers will be transferred from other schools.
In government schools Kalikotsava programme has been started as a part of the SSA scheme to develop the skills of the students and to draw them towards education. Accordingly this programme will be conducted in 203 blocks. This programme will be branched in 3 sectors. Every block will be allotted Rs. 50,000 and clusters Rs.30,000.
Mr. Pithambara K., The block Co-ordinator said that the SSA programme was started in 2001. And according to the 86th amendment of the Indian Constitution, Educational is a Fundamental Right and primary education should be free and compulsory from the age6 to 14yrs.
This objects of scheme to provide: appointment of teachers, Aksharadasova Scholarship, free uniforms and textbooks, computer education, and other necessities. It also aims in giving specialized training to teachers.
This scheme includes Chinna Zilla Dharshana programme. On august 1,2012 ,according to this programme Mangalore Taluk and city schools were zoned into south zone and north zone. Earlier there were 200 schools in the north zone which has been increased to 317 schools.

Permission Denied By Chattisgarh Government for Jaina Basadi Thief investigation : Minister Abhay Chandra Jain:
During the SSA press meet Minister Abhay Chandra Jain retorted to the questions regarding the Jaina Basadi theft. The thieves have been arrested and only 3 idols were acquired out of which 1 was melted. On interrogation it was revealed that the other idols were sold to a goldsmith in chattisgarh. But there was no co-operation from chattisgarh state ,thus the case is still pending.
Mr.Jain Millan and Mr.Abhay Chandra have supplicated to CM for on CBI investigation. For further investigation in Chattisgarh the permission of the central government is required.
Similar incident took place in Moodbidri Jain temple , the scarcity of police force and the lack of reliability and proficiency in the existing police forceis held responsible for the incident. It is presumed to solve the case in 2weeks.
